Funding Announcement: RWJF

Giving Credit has received a $250,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).

T
his grant will help us develop community finance data-collection tools and identify viable pathways to better integrate community finance with mainstream financial systems.

At the heart of this work is the Giving Credit Report, a FCRA-compliant credit report that compiles community finance activity and character-based data. By augmenting traditional underwriting, the Giving Credit Report helps unlock access to capital for individuals who are too often deemed “credit invisible.”

This grant will support three key phases of work:

1️⃣ Expanding user data and data collection capabilities
2️⃣ Proving the predictive power of community finance data
3️⃣ Scaling adoption with mainstream financial institutions

We’re deeply grateful to RWJF for recognizing the role fair, inclusive credit systems play in supporting economic stability and well-being. We’re excited to keep pushing forward alongside our partners to reimagine what creditworthiness can look like.
